DIY – Knitted Pouf

I’m a little tardy in getting things for a nursery.  Or maybe not?  It’s not like my baby is almost 8 months old.  EIGHT MONTHS OLD!  Wow time, slow down.

Anyway, I’m in the process of fixing up an old broken rocking chair, and I wanted something to rest my feet on that eventually the baby could play with, too.

After browsing around on Pinterest, I found this…(tutorial here)

pinspirationMaybe I liked it because the dog reminded me of my parents dog, Bear.  Maybe not.  Anyway, it led me to this site which has a lot of cool free patterns.  But, like all free stuff, it’s not really a complete pattern.  My mother, the true knitter, helped me decipher the sometimes lacking instructions.

I decided I liked the stripes on this one

knittedstoolI stuffed it with two old (I mean really old, they were around when I was about six!) twin comforters and an old pillow.  It could probably hold more, too.

Right now the beagle likes it.

Spoiled dogs...

Spoiled dogs…

But I’m hoping once Henry gets a little older he enjoys it, too.

Do you have any DIY projects you’re working on right now?
